Hong Leong Bank

Deepavali Packet

BRIEF

Deepavali is one of the major celebration in Malaysia for the Indian community. And on this day, money packets are usually given by the elders to the young. And as one of Malaysia's leading bank, Hong Leong Bank needed a money packet that could stand out from the other banks and corporations also creating money packets where most money packet design always hinge on using kolam patterns, oil lamps and purple for their design.

SOLUTION

It is a tradition to wear new clothes for Deepavali. It is thought to bring good luck and attract prosperity for the coming year. We were inspired by the floral & paisley patterns found on sarees and kurta and also reimagined the folding of the money packet based on how a sari is worn.
